Product Description

CD89511 Walküre - Bayreuth 1970

Thank you to several members who informed me that the Wotan of this performance was not Theo Adam but Thomas Stewart. I have to confess that I only copied the cast list from the original upload and listened into the recording long enough to hear that the quality seems to be fine.

Actually the Bayreuth archives give both, Adam and Stewart, for the role of Wotan in 1970, but Adam only sang one performance in mid August and the broadcasts are usually of the first performance end of July, so I'm pretty sure that Stewart is indeed correct.

Cheers Obispo1

These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
