Product Description

CD88547 Tosca - West Berlin 1972

Would anyone have a more complete cast for this, and perhaps a date? I realize without a specific day and month it is hard to determine the complete cast even if one has access to an archive, on the other hand it can't have been more than a few performances that Lorengar, Raimondi and Gobbi all sang together in Berlin. Many thanks, FK

This performance of Tosca has never been uploaded to the group so Im glad to be able to offer it today. This is a transfer from a reel to reel tape from the Mr Tape Collection received in a recent trade. The performance to the best of my listening ability is a radio broadcast without any voice over commentary. It was recorded onto my Roland r-05 recorder (fabulous upgrade to the Edirol) and then uploaded to the computer. It is ripped at 320 kb with cue sheets. > > Considering the age of the tape it is recorded in stereo but there is some hiss and a few moments of tape fadeouts but nothing at all of significance. The cast is as follows (pay attention to the Angelotti) > > Deutsche Oper of West Berlin, Berlin West Germany > Lie performance 1972 > > Tosca - Pilar Lorengar > Cavaradossi - Gianni Raimondi > Scarpia - Tito Gobbi > Angelotti - JOSE VAN DAM > > Conductor - Lorin Maazel
