Product Description

CD85168 Rudolf Firkusny at the 1986 Roque d'Anthéron festival,

1957 Salzburg Festival.

Further to the recent posting of Rudolf Firkusny's playing of Dvorak's piano concerto (Message #84829) here's a rip of a 2-CD compilation of music from a 1986 recital by Rudolf Firkusny at the Roque d'Anthéron festival, one in 1957 at the Salzburg Festival, and a recording made in 1964/65 in New York.

It's a compilation I made about 4 or 5 years ago, when I wasn't as careful as I would be today with dates (let alone bit rates).

CD 1

Janacek (rec 1986) In the Mist Piano Sonata 1.X.1905, In the Street

Martinu (rec 1957 Salzburg) Sonata for Piano Fantasy & Toccata (not sure whether this is from 1957 or 1986)

Etude no 1 (rec 1964/5 NY)

CD 2

Smetana (rec 1986) Macbeth and the Witches Furiante Ètude

Mussorgsky (rec 1957 Salzburg) Pictures at an Exhibition

I'm not sure when or where the next two came from. Vaclav Jan Krtitel Tomacek (1774-1850): Eclogue no 4 Frantisek Benda, (1709-1786): Sonata in A minor

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
