Prompted by Jërëmie's request for a reupload of Pancrace Royer's Zaide, I am also providing a rare performance of one of his other very few operas: Le Pouvoir de l'Amour. This performance from Oberlin College blends some students, many young professional singers and instrumentalists, as well as alumna of the college.
The complete opera was not performed--only the prologue and two of the three entrees (the second was omitted).
Another of Pancrace Royer's operas, Pyrrhus, is to be performed in concert at the Opera Royal, Versailles. I believe the performance has been moved from this year to some time in 2012. One hopes that Radio France will broadcast it.
