The Salzburg 1999 presentation of "Don Giovanni" didn't get favourable reviews, largely because of allegedly leaden conducting and a fairly silly production, but there was some good singing. Bruce Ford is a muscular Don Ottavio, Robert Lloyd a splendid Commendatore, and the ladies are excellent; the whole cast would be difficult to improve. Here is an in-house recording donated by a friend, to whom thanks.
