Product Description

CD83096 Bruckner - Symphony No.7 (Willem van Otterloo)

ANTON BRUCKNER Symphony No.7 in E Major

Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Willem van Otterloo, conductor

Recorded on 2 April 1958 by the Dutch broadcaster KRO Digital satellite recording, MP3, 256 kbps

After my upload of Strauss Heldenleben, conducted by Willem van Otterloo, several of you asked for more Van Otterloo recordings. Here is a studio recording of Bruckner's Symphony No.7 from 1958 in excellent (mono) sound. Bruckner was something of a specialty of Van Otterloo. It is a flowing performance, not unlike that of Eduard van Beinum's from roughly the same period.

By the way: in Message 43831 you can find several other recordings by Willem van Otterloo. The links are still active.

For those of you who can read Dutch: last year an excellent biography of Willem van Otterloo was published: `Willem van Otterloo, een dirigentenloopbaan' by Niek Nelissen.

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
