Product Description

CD83771 Brahms - Requiem - Version with piano four hands

An unusual performace of the German Requiem by Brahms. As often usual in 19th century orchestra works were reduced to versions for two players at one piano, so people were able in times before listening to discs doing it themselves at home * and perhaps knowing it better then...

The version given here seems to be a little of a mixture as Brahms did a four hand version himself - but only for piano - so he integrated the voices into the piano score. Doing it with singers so needs to eliminate the doublings.

Christiane Karg, Sopran Michael Nagy, Bariton Herbert Schuch, Klavier Markus Hinterhäuser, Klavier Balthasar-Neumann-Chor Thomas Hengelbrock, Dirigent
