Product Description

CD82060 Bayreuth Lohengrin 25 July 2010 (mp2 and ac3)

the first of this year's Bayreuth uploads, "Lohengrin", derives from the live digital satellite broadcast of Bayern 4 Klassik (broadcast as Dolby surround, and recorded as ac3 as well as mp2).

Thus, you will find links to the music files - in the original mp2 format (320kbps/48kHz, no editing, no re-encoding); - in the original ac3 format (Dolby surround 448kbps/48kHz).

All music files (please join ac3 files with HJ-Split) will give you a complete act, from the fanfares to the radio announcement at the end of each act. You may have to remove the .html ending before downloading, if you don't use JDownloader or RapidShare-Manager.

The interval/intermission features are all in German; they come in separate files which are also uploaded as mp2 and ac3. Their contents are as follows:

- file "Bay2010Loh_radio1" has an interview with director Hans Neuenfels*; an essay on "Ritterspiele" by Wolfram Goertz*; an interview with conductor Andris Nelsons*, together with the description of scene and content of act 2;

- file "Bay2010Loh_radio2": an interview with Jonas Kaufmann*; an essay by Laurenz Lütteken on "Kunst und Revolution: Das Lohengrin-Vorspiel und die musikalische Geschichte"*; an interview with Annette Dasch*; and the description of the scene and content of act 3;

- file "Bay2010Loh_radio3": a talk among critics after the performance, with Bernhard Neuhoff (Bayerischer Rundfunk), Annika Täuschel (Bayerischer Rundfunk), Stefan Mösch (Opernwelt), and Claus Spahn (Die Zeit) [Bayern 4 had a transmission problem so that a break of about a minute occurred between announcement and discussion which I cut off; ac3 files therefore come as "radio3a" and "radio3b"]

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
