Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835) Norma

Norma - Cristina Deutekom Adalgisa - Montserrat Aparici Pollione - Redento Comacchio Oroveso - Arnold van Mill Clotilde - Tine van Grootel Flavio - Matthijs Coppens

Nederlands Operakoor Omroeporkest Conductor: Renato Sabbioni Stadschouwburg Amsterdam, 14 September, 1973

These were terrible Norma performances in Amsterdam. Cristina finally sang her most famous role in Amsterdam with Adalgisa which could absolutely not handle the part technically. The tenor was replaced every performance. Furthermore, the stage image was poor and the costumes so bad that it was a shame for the diva. Perhaps the biggest disappointment for Cristina Deutekom in her homeland. The recording is messy and we left out the great duet Adelgisa / Pollione to prevent further irritation. However, a unique recording with Cristina Deutekom.
