Daniel Barenboim conducted "Tannhäuser" at the Berlin Staatsoper in 1999 and it was broadcast. Heavy booing at the end of Act 1 turned to cheers after Act 2. If anyone was there maybe they can describe why. This is my recording of the broadcast, not in perfect sound, and if anyone can improve on it, please do so.
