Product Description

CD89646 Andreas Staier plays Diabelli Variations

the great pianist Andreas Staier plays here not only Beethoven's Diabelli Variations (perhaps for the first time before an audience?) but also (track 1) a selection of the other Variations on the same theme by leading virtuosos and composers of the time. Unfortunatley, the announcer was too lazy to explain which ones Staier had chsen form the fifty Diabelli published. I seem to recognize those by Czerny, Hummel, Conradin Kreutzer, Moscheles (?), the young Liszt, Mozart junior and Schubert. Best SemiSerio
