Product Description

CD88371 Gay Divorce (Westenberg, Luker, Kaye, Ollman; McGlinn)

Here's an audience recording the June 1993 concert of Cole Porter's GAY DIVORCE. This recording has just the musical numbers, although the concert also included the book.

Sound is rather good and it sounds as if the voices carried well in this unamplified concert. The recording changes sound quality a bit at a certain point so perhaps this is actually taken from two different recordings.

GAY DIVORCE Performed at Weill Recital Hall, New York, June 9-13, 1993. Music and lyrics by Cole Porter Book by Dwight Taylor Orchestrations by Hans Spialek and Robert Russell Bennett Additional orchestrations by Russell Warner

Guy: Robert Westenberg Mimi: Rebecca Luker Hortense: Judy Kaye Tonetti: Kurt Ollman Barbara: Maureen Brennan Egbert-Teddy: Simon Jones Waiter: Nick Ullett

Conducted by John McGlinn

This is at 128, but as I said, the sound is rather good for this kind of recording.

USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
