Product Description

CD88022 Eugene Onegin, Cotrubas, Braun, Solti, ROH 1971

Someone wanted this again, so here it is. Can't blame them, Cotrubas is the most realistic Tatyana going. From a trade at 128khps

As promised here is Cotrubas' first Tatyana, sung in English and her debut in the role and at the venue. This is also important for preserving Victor Braun's legacy. He is very under rated. Tear is an unlikely but good Lensky and I prefer Solti here than to his studio recording of the opera. Sound is from a broadcast but it is not great quality, a lot of crackling and dropping out in the right channel. Slightly annoying on headphones but more than ok for listening in the room. The performance is worth it and maybe someone can uplaod a pristine copy. This came from a trade with someone in America. Enjoy,

Barney

These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only.
