Yet nice another Dido--this one from the European Academy of Music which I believe is a product of the Aix-en-Provence Festival each summer. Young singers and musicians are brought together for a series of performances at the festival and later in other parts of Europe. This performance comes from a run of three done in November 2004 in Vitrolles. Of particular interest might be the fine Dido of Karen Cargill who will be debuting at the MET next season as Waltraute in the new production of Gotterdammerung. The orchestra is led from the harpsichord by the fine American conductor-keyboardist Kenneth Weiss
