Wigmore Hall Recital 13 September 2010 Alina Ibragimova, Cedric Tiberghien

Live broadcast BBC Radio 3.

The opening concert in this autumn's BBC Lunchtime series Live from the Wigmore Hall in London. Presented by Sean Rafferty. Violinist Alina Ibragimova and pianist Cedric Tiberghien perform 2 works written just 10 years apart but by composers of different generations - Brahms and Richard Strauss.

Both Alina Ibraghimova and Cedric Tiberghien are past BBC New Generation Artists and since their time on the scheme have been very successful, both on their own and together as a chamber music partnership - their recording of Szymanowski's music for violin and piano was one of the highlight discs of 2009, and earlier this year they recorded Beethoven's Sonatas on the Wigmore Hall's own label.

Brahms: Violin Sonata No.1 in G major (Op.78)

Strauss: Violin Sonata in E flat (Op.18).

DAB recording 192kbps, MP3
