Product Description

CD1879900 Vivica Genaux, Pinchgut Opera, Erin Helyard - concert in Melbourne.

American coloratura mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux joins Pinchgut Opera under Erin Helyard in a special one-off concert in Melbourne. Originally hailing from Alaska, Vivica Genaux has since garnered accolades including four Grammy nominations for her recordings and performances of some of the most-loved roles by Handel, Rossini, and Hasse, over a career of some two decades. Of her 28 signature roles, 20 of them are 'pants', or traditionally male characters. Here she takes listeners on a colourful journey across some of the arias for which she's best-known, before the fine players of the Orchestra of the Antipodes, with Erin Helyard directing. Recorded live in concert at Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, on 7 December 2018 by ABC Classic FM. Presented by Mairi Nicolson. Producer Jennifer Mills. Engineers Alex Stinson and Christopher Lawson.
