Product Description

MP3-1830900 Gilles Messe des morts - Capella Cracoviensis,Capriccio Stravagante, Utrecht 02.09.2018 Vocal ensemble Capella Cracoviensis and musical ensemble Capriccio Stravagante, both led by harpsichordist and conductor Skip Sempé, perform the program ‘Adieu, monsieur Rameau’ during the Utrecht Early Music Festival 2018. The program consists of an arrangement of the famous French requiem ‘Messe des morts’ by Jean Gilles. The arrangement, most probably done by François Rebel and François Francoeur, was made for Rameau’s memorial service. Rebel and Francoeur updated the mass by changing the instrumentation and adding movements and references.
