Simándy100 - Big Tenor Show - on the Birthday of The Great Tenor

Tenors are, of course, the luckiest singers. Their job is also probably the most difficult, and it is no coincidence that only a few of them become privileged with world fame or that composers set aside their most beautiful melodies for them. Now, the 100th anniversary of the birth of towering and legendary Hungarian tenor József Simándy is bringing the best Hungarian singers and the greatest active tenor stars of our era to the stage of the Erkel Theatre. Rafael Rojas will join eight Hungarian singers to pay homage to Simándy’s truly pivotal life's work, which remains a model even today. Over the course of the gala event, photographs and restored film clips both well known and seldom seen will be shown to help evoke Simandy's pivotal career, which remains exemplary to this day.
