Product Description

CD83725 Verdi, Otello - live broadcast Paris 9 Oct 2010 (mp2 files)

as broadcast live by France Musique, here my recording of Saturday evening's concert performance of Verdi's Otello in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. I have not uploaded the radio commentary, as neither the introductory part (from 19:06 to 20:00) nor the interval/intermission features contain anything else but additional opera arias and classical music.

Please note that in this concert performance and in Baden-Baden (30 Sept) Franco Farina replaced an ailing Ben Heppner who was announced for Luxembourg (3 Oct) and Dortmund (6 Oct).

Please also note that there was no break between acts 1 and 2 resp. 3 and 4; though I have divided the acts for up- and downloading convenience, they play without interruption. The mp2 files are left as broadcast and recorded via digital satellite dish at 256kbps/48kHz (no re-encoding, no additional compression); they can easily be converted into the format of your preference.

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
