Product Description

CD89530 Mahler Symphony No. 8- Chailly/ Gewandhaus 2011

The German MDR yesterday evening did a broadcast of the second performance of Mahler´s 8th symphony from the Leipzig Gewandhaus in their Mahler festival. It´s a terrific performance from conductor, orchestra and chorus and is in wonderful sound, too (apart from some balance problems with the soloists). Alas, not all of the soloists are in their best form in this extremely demanding piece of music.
