Greetings everyone,
Some time ago I received a box of minidiscs from a friend and included amongst them was this recording of Massenet's "Herodiade". Recorded in-house, it features the Brazilian soprano Eliane Coelho as Salome, a role she sang in the Richard Strauss version of the episode, and which I have previously uploaded. The cast is not really idiomatic, not a French speaker among them as far as I can see. Miss Coelho features in another recording of this opera on OS from a previous year with Jose Carreras; here she gives her interpretation with the perhaps less sophisticated Bulgarian tenor Emil Ivanov.
