Product Description

CD95317 Richard Verreau Recital No. 2

In reply to the warm reception given my recent posting of a Richard Verreau recital (message #95302), here is a much less interesting second recital by Richard Verreau, in which I have gathered 77+ minutes of material from many sources already available on the internet or elsewhere. The only virtue of this collection is that it brings all this material together in one place. Most of it comes from Youtube (the most interesting from old Canadian TV programs), but I have also taken arias and duets from complete live recordings already uploaded to OperaShare (Les Troyens, Les pêcheurs de perles, the Verdi Requiem). My thanks to the original uploaders. I have not tried to adjust sound or bitrates or track down original sources or dates.

The sound quality is as varied as the original sources, and this collection is good proof (if anyone still needed it) that we should not blindly trust bitrates as a guarantee of sound quality: here an item at 64 kbps can sound far better than another at 320.

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
