Today is the 25. anniversary of Elisabeth Grümmer´s death. To celebrate this wonderful German soprano the Bavarian broadcast company this evening did a re-broadcast of a Munich concert from 1963 with Grümmer and her collegues Lorenz Fehenberger and Karl Christian Kohn. Not all things in this concert are exceptional but the singing of Grümmer certainly is. The Otello "Ave Maria" belongs to the most beautiful and fascinating I know. For documentary reasons I let the concert as broadcasted with the complete commentary.
