This Golschmann /St. Louis Symphony performance is taken from the RCA Victor Album, M 1005, titled "Pillar of Fire" to capitalize on the popularity of Antony Tudor's 1942 ballet that featured Schoenberg's Transfigured Night. Exact recording date is unknown, but appears to have been recorded in 1945 and released that autumn.
The files presented here are my tranfers from the 78 set. The files include the filler on side eight: Corelli's Violin Sonata, Op.5 No. 5, adagio arranged by Amadeo de Filippi. Neither work is currently available on commercial CD.
