Product Description

CD90914 Wagner Tannhäuser Bayreuth 25 July 2011 (ac3 // ATT.: acts

Dear friends of Wagner,

unfortunately my satellite connection broke down immediately before the beginning of this year's first Bayreuth night, the live broadcast of Tannhäuser. I am awfully sorry that I can therefore only offer the upload of acts 2 and 3; my recording begins with the 2nd part of the interval feature between acts 1 and 2. For act 1, you will have to look out for obispo1's or Ambrogio Bianchi's or other's uploads.

Nevertheless I upload because I know that some of you are looking forward to the quality of BR Klassik and its Dolby surround transmission (448kbps/48kHz).

The music files come in two formats: the original *.ac3 (Dolby, here), and a conversion to *.flac uploaded separately. The files with interval features and other radio commentary (all in German) are left unchanged for the ac3 upload, but converted to mp3 and not to flac for the flac-upload (file size is the problem in this case). These files contain the following:

file bayr2011tannh_interval1: "Wolfram von Eschenbach: Der rätselhafte Einsame", an essay by Irina Paladi Lars Cleveman (Tannhäuser) interviewed by Elgin Heuerding

file bayr2011tannh_interval2: Camilla Nylund (Elisabeth) interviewed by Ursula Adamski-Störmer "Der Mythos der Wartburg", an essay by Ulrich Großmann Michael Nagy (Wolfram) interviewed by Dirk Kruse

file bayr2011tannh_radio_ac3/mp3.zip: Klaus Meyer introducing stage and play of acts 2 and 3; a round of critics discussing the event after the show, with Christine Lemke-Matwey (Tagesspiegel Berlin), Wolfram Goertz (Rheinische Post Düsseldorf), Bernhard Neuhoff (BR Klassik München), interviewed by Annika Täuschel (BR Klassik)

All download links and files are emailed to you within 72 business hours of your order. Please note: If you are charged shipping for any MP3, please let us know and we will refund you immediately! Also, almost all CD's are available as MP3's.

Shipping rates in the USA are $3.99 for the first item and $1.25 for each additional item. Shipping rates outside the USA are $16.00 for the first item and $2.50 for each additional item.

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
