CD89845 Judy Kaye (three cabaret performances)

Here are three different cabaret performances by the wonderful Judy Kaye. I'd posted the first two of these in the past, but here are new links for those two, as well as a third that I'd never posted here. A couple of songs appear in more than one of these recordings, and one song (Cole Porter's "Tale of the Oyster") is in all three.

The first was recorded at the long-closed New York club Reno Sweeney on May 10, 1980. This seems to have been recorded through the sound system. This is a surprisingly pop-oriented program, but a particular highlight is a beautiful performance of "A Simple Song" from Bernstein's MASS. This is thoroughly tracked. Uploaded at 192.

Program: Come Sail Away; Green Finch and Linnet Bird; Milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet; Skylark; I Hear Bells; Tango Palace; Remember?; Stringman; A Simple Song; I Like It Early in the Morning; Niagara; Riders to the Stars; Tale of the Oyster; You and I medley

This second download was recorded at another long-closed New York club, Freddy's, in January 1984. This is also thoroughly tracked and also seems to have been recorded through the sound system. This is more oriented toward theatre music, with a bit of pop. Uploaded at 128.

Program: A Loud and Funny Song (missing beginning); It Goes Like It Goes; Skylark; I Hear Bells; Another Hundred People; Never, What Does He Want Of Me?; Nina; Don't Play That Love Song Anymore; Ragtime Lullaby; Being Alive; A Quiet Thing; The Tale of the Oyster; I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love

This last one was recorded at New York's 92nd Street Y on Jan. 8, 1994. This is an audience recording. The sound isn't wonderful, but with headphones generally quite listenable, though a bit of the patter is tough to hear. This is a particularly wide-ranging program, as you can see from the song list below.

This is not tracked. Uploaded at 192.

Disc 1: On the Twentieth Century medley; My Cousin in Milwaukee; Sing, My Heart; Quando m'en vo; I Never Do Anything Twice; Jingles and commercials; Desperado; The Tale of the Oyster; I Took My Time; Vilia; Not Since Ninevah. Disc 2: How Do You Want Me?; A Loud and Funny Song; Dream With Me; A Little Bit in Love; What a Movie (Trouble in Tahiti); What Does He Want of Me?; Mister Right; Think of Me; Fancy Free; Windflowers; I Have Nothing; All the Things You Are; I'm Going Back (incomplete)
