Product Description

CD89178 Thomas: Mignon New Orleans 1952 Thebom/Hurley/Simoneau

A rare tape recording ( as it is said to be) I obtained in trade some years ago seems not to have been uploaded to Operashare, despite its great age. One can only imagine how a live performance in 1952 got recorded when it was not broadcast, but I think this is a case of such. Ambroise Thomas's "Mignon" was presented in New Orleans on the 20th of March that year. I think the cast I have is incomplete. Further help on that would be good. The recording is surprisingly good for the period and the voices come out well.

Best wishes Roger D Bell Lancashire England
