In 1978 the BBC broadcast a stunning performance from Covent Garden of "Idomeneo", incredibly its first ever run of performances in the theatre. It had an immensely strong cast and the singing ( and breathing !) of Stuart Burrows in the title role is just stunning. Janet Baker and Yvonne Kenny are his equal. This is my recording of the broadcast, with an apology for the very infrequent slight drop-outs on the tape,
