CD83301 Cherubini KOUKORGI audio only

Luigi Cherubini wrote this Opéra-Comique in 1792-1793 but he never completed it, and it was thought to be lost. Dr Cullmann discovered the autograph in Krakow and prepared a complete performance edition (the Ouverture, which Cherubini did not even write, was taken from IFIGENIA IN AULIDE, 1788, and the Finale II is an occasion piece written by Cherubini for a performance of Paisiello's MOLINARA - Cherubini himself, however, had noted on the last page of the score, "The opera must end here"). It is a little masterwork, very well sung and played here by the Klagenfurt Oper ensemble. The dialogues - in German - are very short. There is plenty of enjoy. Best SemiSerio
