CD1902300 Cecilia Bartoli & Friends - a diva in the service of the role

The luminosity of her mezzo-soprano was celebrated a hundredfold, her charisma roused critics and audiences. But one thing distinguishes Cecilia Bartoli: the ability to put her whole personality into every word she sings.

Cecilia Bartoli, as described by the conductor Antonio Pappano, has the gift of changing an orchestra during the rehearsal. She does everything to fill a role as best as possible according to the composer's ideal. In this film of Italian-language television RSI, her colleagues queuing to sing their praises: Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, Martha Argerich or the opera directors Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier. The film by Fabio de Luca documents for a whole season the most important performances of the Swiss electors, who celebrate their 30th anniversary at the Zurich Opera House in January.
