Product Description

CD14232 Wagner Walkure 1987 Seattle Acte Rysanek Bussey

Act One of DIE WALKUERE from Leonie Rysanek's guest appearance in Seattle (1987).

This reel to reel analogue tape was found in an estate sale in NYC, purchased for 50 cents! The remainder of the performance may be on the more than 300 unlabeled tapes obtained at the same sale. They were made by a long-time west coast resident who apparently rarely went to the theater without recording the performance. He stored pages torn from the programs and his ticket stubs in the carbdboard boxes that housed his tapes, but did not mark the boxes to indicate the contents.

Unfortunately, the mp3 conversion has lost a bit of Rysanek's refulgent qualities present in that original analogue tape, which makes me wonder about the extent of what we are missing in the general acceptance of mp3 compressed audio of the numerous treasures being shared by the group regardless of computer platform or codecs applied.

From a private in-house recording [exact date unknown] 1987

Important Information!!!
USA Telephone (404) 200-4776 We sell only opera recordings. The recordings are sent to you in paper sleeves with no tray card or inserts, just the raw discs with printed labels. These recordings are of nonprofessional quality that are in the public domain. The quality of these old opera recordings is not very good and they are meant for collectors and educational purposes only. Most of them are 30 or 40 years old, so they might be blurry, colors faded, and not sound very good, but they might not be available elsewhere. Please note that most of our recordings do not have tracks, they have 1 long track per disc.
